I guess you could say that fishing is in Wayne’s blood. His great-grandfather owned a fishing lodge in the 1930’s. As a child, Wayne loved to spend his time fishing and enjoying the outdoors. As a teenager he also worked at his cousin's fishing lodge.
In 1979, Wayne and I spent our honeymoon on a fly-in fishing trip. It was during that week we decided owning a fishing lodge was our destiny. We went on dozens of
fishing trips and checked out several lodges before finding Kipawa Lodge. Lake Kipawa was beautiful, the fishing, fantastic, the cabins and Lodge were, okay. It was going to take a lot of blood, sweat and tears but we were too young and too excited to be afraid.
Kipawa Lodge was established in 1960. For the past 32 years we have been working hard to improve it in every way possible. Some of the improvements include the total renovations of cabins, all new rental boats, Lund wc-14 boats and 15 hp Suzuki motors. A new main Lodge has also been built to allow for a 30 seat dining room and we installed a solar power system to provide electricity 24 hours a day. We are very proud to offer all-inclusive fishing packages for sportsmen and families. More than 75% of guests return year after year. That has to say something!
We will never be finished upgrading and making improvements but that’s okay. We raised our daughters here and our grandkids visit every summer. We’ve made some great friends.
We owe a great big thank you to all our guests for helping to make Kipawa Lodge what it is today. We could not have done without your help.
