There’s something timeless about life at the lodge — early‑morning mist on the water, the hum of a boat motor heading out at sunrise, the laughter that carries across the docks at day’s end. For generations, guests have come here not just to fish, but to slow down, reconnect, and create the kind of stories that get told around campfires for years.

This page is our way of honoring that history.
Here, we’re gathering the vintage photos, legendary catches, family traditions, and unforgettable moments that have shaped our lodge through the decades. Some memories are big — record‑breaking fish, milestone trips, multi‑generation reunions. Others are small but just as meaningful — a child’s first cast, a quiet morning on the lake, a shared cup of coffee before heading out.

We invite you to explore, reminisce, and add your own chapter to the story.
Whether you’ve been coming here for years or you’re planning your first trip, this collection is a celebration of everyone who has made our lodge what it is today.

Welcome to the memory dock — cast a line, stay awhile, and enjoy the stories that live here.

Welcome to our Dockside Memories

Kipawa Lodge was founded in 1960 by Rene and Peg Vaillancourt. Over the years, it changed ownership twice before becoming the property of the Moreau Family. Sadly, the old photos and memories did not accompany that purchase. Craig C. from Ohio visited Kipawa Lodge as a young boy with his family and has since gathered his cherished memories to share with us. To this day, Craig and his wife Shawn returned every year to share Kipawa with their children and Grandchildren. We hope you enjoy his recollections and feel encouraged to share your own!
